Friends, there is nothing I love more than being with people doing creative things. Unless I can drink a Dr. Pepper slushie while doing it.
IYKYK.
My blackout poetry workshop was so much fun and I am thrilled to report that it sold out!
What I found most interesting was how much the poems reflected the creator. Without giving any personal details, it was fascinating to see what I knew about these women to be revealed in the poetry they found. Especially when the source material had nothing to do with what the poem ended up being about.
Isn’t that just how it goes? We find what we’re looking for.
I’d love to thank Tiffani for hosting us at her beautiful studio Creative Heart Expressions! What a gift she is! She is truly a community-minded, supportive artist, and I hope y’all will go see her at her studio. If you’re near Jasper, and you’re looking for something fun to do with your friends, your kids, or yourself, Tiffani has something for you. Plus, look at how gorgeous the space is!
Don’t you just want to curl up in one of those bright pink chairs?
If you missed this workshop, never fear! I have another workshop coming up on July 20th at Menagerie on Main in Canton. This one covers both blackout poetry and collage, and y’all know how much I love collage!
If you’re interested, find out all the information here. The space is smaller, so tickets are limited! I wanted to tell y’all about it first so you’d have first crack at it!
I cannot wait to see what y’all come up with!
Y’all might remember that I submitted my No Small Honor manuscript to a publisher to consider. Still no news on that front, but this workshop is a reflection of that work, and I cannot wait to share it with you!
I love y’all!
