Happy Fourth of July! I hope you’re having a fun and safe holiday with your loved ones! I wouldn’t normally interrupt such a beautiful day, but I wanted to remind you that tickets to my workshop are limited, and I’d hate for you to miss out!
July 20th at Menagerie on Main is going to be so fun. Menagerie is a stunning art gallery in Canton, with a small studio space perfect for an intimate workshop!
It’s located in downtown Canton, so you can grab a bite for lunch, do some shopping, then head on over to the gallery for some fun!
You can find all the information on my website or on Menagerie on Main’s site.
I’ve been curating a fun batch of books and magazines specifically for this event. If you love old drawings, crisp nature photos, technological advances (from the 70s haha!), vintage advertisements, weird dolls, goofy kitty cats, Russian landscapes, and Italian opera sheet music, and so much more, you will love what I’ve put together.
Here’s some samples of what I’ve made, and what you can make too :)

Blackout poetry and collage can be silly or serious, poignant or surreal. It can be good, bad, ugly, and everything in between and all of it is good because it’s an experimental art form to start with! You could look at the same batch of words and magazine cutouts as your neighbor, and your work would be completely different from theirs.
I'll show you how to find the hidden poems inside magazine articles and old books. You’ll learn about different collage techniques, and once you decide what appeals to you, I’ll give you tips and tricks on how to really make your work stand out. The end result will tell a story that only you could pull out of the material. I can’t wait to see what you come up with.
If you’d like to get one of the few tickets left, use LOVELETTER at the checkout as a thank you from me to you!
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! I can’t wait to be with y’all in just a couple of weeks!
Love, Tristan
